Eda Şarman's 'Shallow Shore, Deep Well' exhibition at Ferda Art Platform explores water and ecology
From May 8 to June 21, 2025, Eda Şarman, a Turkish artist, showcased her solo exhibition titled 'Shallow Shore, Deep Well' at the Ferda Art Platform in Istanbul. This exhibition included 17 new pieces, featuring acrylic works such as 'Ashore' (2025) and 'Shadow Mirror' (2025), alongside ceramic creations like 'Watery Castle' (2025). The highlight was '3 Steps' (2025), a ceramic column with sculpted legs that incorporated personal symbols. An interactive piece, 'Feeling Water' (2025), created vibrations upon touch. Additionally, the video 'Head stone' (2025) displayed underwater visuals. The exhibition, set in a historic apartment, was documented by photographer Barış Özçetin, while art writer Matt A. Hanson provided coverage. Şarman's earlier work, 'Fountain Creature' (2024), also explored urban hydro-infrastructure.
