Ecological Banners at Palazzo Zani Celebrate Centenary of Saiarino Pumping Station
A collective exhibition titled OCCHIO! Sguardi sul territorio opens at Palazzo Zani in Bologna during ART CITY Bologna 2025, marking the centenary of the Saiarino pumping station in Argenta, inaugurated on June 13, 1925 by King Vittorio Emanuele III. The show, promoted by the Consorzio della Bonifica Renana, features graphic banners created by students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna under professor Danilo Danisi, addressing water, environment, biodiversity, and technology. Visitors can vote for their favorite project, with the winner announced on March 22, World Water Day. The Saiarino complex, now a museum within the Po Delta Regional Park, is undergoing a €40 million PNRR-funded upgrade to restore full capacity and modernize pumping systems. The exhibition is part of the Innovation Design program developed by LAB.BRAINdesign (Valentina Downey and Patrizia Scarzella) and has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2024, a precursor to the Compasso d'Oro award.
