EcoFutures Festival: Feminist and Queer Ecology in East London

The EcoFutures festival, organized by the feminist group Arts Feminism Queer (CUNTemporary), is taking place until April 19 at seven venues in East London. This event showcases more than 70 global artists, activists, and theorists, tackling the ecological crisis through feminist, queer, and decolonial lenses. The schedule features discussions, performances, exhibitions, and workshops that explore issues like climate refugees, plastic pollution, toxic waste, air quality, capitalist consumption, neocolonial land use, green economies, and rising sea levels. A highlight is the exhibition Staring at the Sun at Mile End Park's Art Pavilion, showcasing works by nine international artists. The festival concludes with Deep Trash: Eco Trash on April 19 at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, presenting over forty artists in a night of innovative performances.
