Eco e Narciso: MAXXI and Barberini Collections Dialogue at Palazzo Barberini
An exhibition titled "Eco e Narciso: Portrait and Self-Portrait in the Collections of MAXXI and the National Galleries Barberini Corsini" will debut at Palazzo Barberini in Rome on May 18. The display delves into the relationship between ancient and modern artistry, featuring works from both the Gallerie Nazionali and MAXXI. Curated by Flaminia Gennari Santori and Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, the exhibition employs a thematic rather than chronological setup, allowing artworks by a diverse range of artists, including Raffaello and Kiki Smith, to interact. It will occupy newly restored sections of the Palazzo, such as the Salone Pietro da Cortona.
