Echo: Five International Galleries Launch Shared Space in Cologne

In January 2022, five galleries—Bureau from New York, Hot Wheels Athens, LC Queisser in Tbilisi, and Stereo and Wschód from Warsaw—came together to create Echo, a new collaborative space at Roonstrasse 108 in Cologne. This spot used to belong to Jan Kaps, who moved to a larger location nearby. Echo aims to extend its unique programs into the community, especially in light of the pandemic, drawing inspiration from successful collaborations like Condo and Friend of Friend, as well as Brussels' La Maison de Rendez-Vous, which opened in January 2021. Cologne was chosen for its art market history, being the birthplace of Kunstmarkt Köln in 1967. Echo plans three group exhibitions each year, with the first, "New Memories" (January 21–March 5, 2022), showcasing artists like Ketuta Alexi-Meskhisvili and Marina Xenofontos.
