EasyReading font for dyslexics adopted by University of Tuscia for AI e-learning platform
The University of Tuscia has adopted the EasyReading font, designed by Federico Alfonsetti for high legibility and dyslexia friendliness, for its European project VRAIlexia. VRAIlexia is an e-learning platform using virtual reality and artificial intelligence to improve learning for dyslexic students. The project was initiated by professor Giuseppe Calabrò, who previously presented a national research and training project to the Ministry. The team applied for the Erasmus+ 2020 call and ranked first. The font, created in Turin, targets the 10% of the population with dyslexia but is designed for all readers. It features 811 characters and is used across the university's PCs and online teaching. The university aims to become a permanent laboratory for innovative teaching and a hub for Sustainable Development Goals.
