Eastman Kodak Expands Film Lineup with Large-Format and Bulk Rolls

Eastman Kodak has expanded its direct-to-distributor film sales to include large-format and bulk roll products, marking a significant step in its ongoing effort to bring film products back under its own distribution umbrella. The company, based in Rochester, New York, announced the move in May, adding to a series of film releases that began last September. The new products include Kodak Ektapan 100 and 400 in 4x5 and 100-foot rolls; Ektacolor Pro 160 and 400 in 4x5 and 8x10; Ektapan 100 and 400 in 4x5; Tri-X 320 in 4x5, 5x7, and 8x10; and Tri-X 400 in 100-foot rolls. These additions follow the gradual return of Kodak films such as Kodacolor 100 and 200, Kodak Gold 200, Ultramax 400, Ektar, Tri-X, Ektachrome, Ektacolor, and Ektapan, which were previously distributed by Kodak Alaris. Notably, Ektacolor is essentially Portra, and Ektapan is T-Max, but the names belong to Kodak Alaris. The company's renewed investment in film is credited as a major factor in its recent financial success, reflecting the broader resurgence of analog photography. The announcement was made on Kodak's website with the tagline "Time to go big," and the company expressed pride in adding large-format still films to its growing lineup. This development is seen as positive news for sheet film enthusiasts and analog photographers, further evidence that film photography is thriving.
