Easter 2021: Digital and In-Person Art Events Across Italy

For Easter 2021, despite pandemic restrictions, numerous Italian cultural institutions and organizations are offering digital and limited in-person events. Campania> Artecard partners with Gay-Odin to include a 365 Lite museum pass inside limited-edition chocolate eggs, granting access to 34 museums in Campania, valid until December 31, 2021. The Comitato Maria Letizia Verga launches digital Easter greeting cards by artists Olimpia Zagnoli, Alice Pasquini, and Riccardo Guasco for fundraising. In Turin, the restored altar of the Cappella della Sindone is now viewable via an augmented reality app from Musei Reali Torino, with a special window opening until April 7. Forno Brisa releases a collector's pack for its Easter dove cake featuring a photograph by Magnum Photos' Paolo Pellegrin, with a contest for future pack designs. In Milan, Piazza del Duomo hosts an open-air preview of WePlanet's 100 globes for sustainability, featuring works by Giulio Cappellini, Antonio Facco, and Michele De Lucchi, from August 27 to November 27. The Coro Lirico Siciliano streams performances of Stabat Mater by Emanuele D'Astorga and Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni from Sicilian theaters. Milo Rau's film 'Il Nuovo Vangelo', shot in Matera during its 2019 European Capital of Culture program, streams worldwide from April 1-4, involving migrants and locals in a reenactment of Christ's entry into Jerusalem and the Passion.
