Eames Pavilion System Launches in Milan, Marian Goodman Pauses LA, and Smithsonian Names New Director

At Milan Design Week, Kettal and the Eames Office introduced the Eames Pavilion System, a modular housing kit that draws inspiration from the 1949 Case Study House. Following the passing of founder Marian Goodman at the age of 97, the Marian Goodman Gallery, which opened in Los Angeles in 2023, is halting its operations there while maintaining its presence in New York and Paris. Lynda Roscoe Hartigan will take on the role of director at the Smithsonian American Art Museum starting in September 2026. A proposal for a $402 million renovation of New Haven's Union Station aims to replace the pedestrian tunnel built in 1988 with a new tiled passage.
