Dyson Museum to Open in Gloucestershire in 2021

James and Deirdre Dyson, founders of the Dyson vacuum cleaner empire, will open a private contemporary art museum in Gloucestershire, England, in 2021. Named Dodington Art Gallery, the museum will house their collection of Pop Art, Op Art, and contemporary painting, including works by Pablo Picasso, Yves Klein, Victor Vasarely, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein. The building, designed by architect Chris Wilkinson of WilkinsonEyre, features a green roof and bronze modular walls. The Dyson collection also includes a sculpture trail outdoors. James Dyson studied interior and furniture design at the Royal College of Art, where he met his wife Deirdre, now an artist and rug designer with galleries in London and Paris. The museum aims to bring art to an area lacking cultural venues.
