Dynamo Camp's Art Therapy Program Expands with New Gallery and NFT Projects
Dynamo Camp, a recreational therapy campus in the Tuscan Apennines near San Marcello Piteglio, has grown from a €700,000 budget in 2007 to €7 million in investments in 2022, hosting over 20,000 guests free of charge since its founding. Founded by Enzo Manes based on Paul Newman's SeriousFun Children's Network, the camp serves children with serious or chronic illnesses, their siblings, and families through creative workshops and outdoor activities. The Dynamo Art Factory, launched in 2009, has involved 141 artists who have created 2,000 works with camp participants. The Dynamo Art Gallery now exhibits these works, which are available for donation, and features site-specific installations by artists like David Tremlett (Twin Silos) and Michelangelo Pistoletto (Terzo Paradiso). In 2022, the camp expanded its City Camp network to Milan, Florence, and Rome, and launched the Archivio Emozioni Dynamo, a museum-like space. New initiatives include crypto art and NFT production, with works by Fabio Giampietro, Mattia Cuttini, and Giovanni Motta on SuperRare. The camp employs 54 permanent staff, 76 seasonal workers, and over 1,000 volunteers annually.
