exhibition · 2026-04-23

The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa presents DXP (Digital Transformation Planet), an interdisciplinary exhibition running from 2023 that brings together artists, architects, scientists, and programmers to explore how digital technology—including AI, the metaverse, and big data—is reshaping human life and sensibilities. The exhibition features pioneering works from international contributors such as AFROSCOE (Ghana), ANREALAGE (Japan), Shruti Belliappa & Kiraṇ Kumār (India), GROUP (Japan), HATRA+Yuma Kishi (Japan), Keiken (Japan, Israel, Mexico), Tomihiro Kono (Japan), MANTLE: Shu Isaka + Nakamura Soshi (Japan), David OReilly (Ireland), Takashi Ikegami Laboratory (University of Tokyo, supported by Hiroshi Ishiguro Laboratory, University of Osaka), VUILD (Japan), and Jonathan Zawada (Australia). A cross-disciplinary approach is central, with collaborations across fields to examine the complex interactions between technology, humankind, and other living organisms. The exhibition also proposes a holistic vision of life encompassing food, clothing, and shelter, demonstrating how technology can integrate into daily existence. DXP is framed as an interface to capture the current transformation and offer a tangible sense of the emerging planet in the Anthropocene, where invisible networks and AI increasingly control aspects of life.
