DWA Design Studio Celebrates 20th Anniversary with New Book and Collaborations

DWA, a Milan-based design firm founded by architects Frederik de Wachter and Alberto Artesani, is marking its 20th anniversary with a unique book created by LaTigre studio. This book highlights 120 projects from the past two decades and features thoughts from twenty long-time collaborators, including Alberto Strada, Annalisa Rosso, Francesca Sarti, Samuel Lambert from Lambert et Fils, and Valentina Ciuffi. DWA is well-known for its stylish use of materials and colors, significantly influencing Milan’s design landscape. Notable works include the interior design of Rome's Rinascente and Cafe Populaire, a pop-up restaurant with Lambert et Fils during Milan Design Week from 2019 to 2022. They've also worked closely with Wallpaper*, contributing to events like the Class of 2024 and 2025 at Triennale Milano and the upcoming Wallpaper* Kiosk for the Wallpaper* Travel Guides launch at Milan Design Week 2026. De Wachter and Artesani describe their creations as existing in the spaces between actions, with the book serving as a nonlinear mix of sketches, photos, materials, and notes. Their knack for crafting engaging, functional spaces has made them reliable partners for Wallpaper* over the years.
