Dutch Single-Owner Collection Achieves €907,526 at Bonhams Paris Auction

On November 14, 2024, Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris held a successful auction featuring a private collection of fine and decorative art curated by a Dutch expert. The event raked in €907,526, with 72% of the items finding new homes. A standout piece was a remarkable late 18th-century regulator clock by "Berthoud à Paris," which sold for €165,500 due to its unique compensated pendulum design. Another impressive item was a large ormolu and mirrored circular surtout-de-table, linked to Pierre-Philippe Thomire's workshop from the early 19th century, which went for €95,650. Charlotte Roelofsen, from Bonhams Netherlands, noted that the collection represented 25 years of fine Dutch and French art, with bidding exceeding their expectations for this Barbet sale.
