Duo Show 'Rodéo !' at Galerie du Jour Agnès B. Features Botella and Chaillou

The Galerie du Jour Agnès B. in Paris presents 'Rodéo !', a duo exhibition featuring artists Salomé Botella and Marion Chaillou, running from June 5 to July 26, 2026. Both artists graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris and share a studio at Le Houloc. In 2025, Botella won the Prix agnès b., while Chaillou received the Bourse des Amis des Beaux-Arts. The exhibition's title, 'Rodéo !', serves as a performative metaphor for power dynamics, domination, and resistance. Botella's work incorporates rural materials such as horsehair, corn, wood, burlap, horseshoes, slingshots, and feathers, evoking a peasant world infused with humor and labor, referencing early cartoons and Hollywood westerns. Chaillou's sculptures transform coded clothing forms to reveal gender determinisms, hiding miniature gouache paintings inside based on her own photographs. The skirt becomes an object of interrogation, the female body a political terrain. The exhibition is held at Galerie du Jour - Agnès B., 6 Place Jean-Michel Basquiat, 75013 Paris, open Wednesday to Saturday 11am-7pm, Sunday 2pm-7pm, closed Monday and Tuesday, free entry.
