Dune's dystopian fashion: costumes and red carpet looks

The costumes in Denis Villeneuve's Dune films, designed by Jacqueline West and Bob Morgan, blend medieval, esoteric, and high-fashion influences. For Dune: Part Two, West drew inspiration from 1920s jewelry, Balenciaga, 1950s Renaissance couture, and collaborations with Budapest artisans and Middle Eastern jewelers. The Stillsuit, a water-recycling system, exemplifies the sci-fi aesthetic. Over 100 unique models were created for each costume, totaling more than 1,000 garments with tarot and religious references. Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) wears chainmail and metal headpieces evoking medieval armories, while Margot Fenring (Léa Seydoux) is inspired by Balenciaga and 1950s Parisian runways. Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) features Tuareg-inspired fabrics from Morocco with deconstructed futuristic jewelry.
