Dumican Mosey Architects Designs Luxury Martis Camp Residence in North Lake Tahoe

San Francisco-based architecture firm Dumican Mosey Architects (DMA) has completed the Martis Camp Residence, a private luxury home located in the mountainous Martis Valley region between North Lake Tahoe and Truckee, California. The residence is situated within the Martis Camp private community, which enforces design guidelines that encourage architectural diversity and site sensitivity. The project was commissioned by a returning client and family of four, offering DMA an opportunity to expand its expressive range. The home is positioned on a gentle downslope amidst granite outcroppings, towering pine trees, and views over the evergreen forest and mountains. Eric Dumican, partner at DMA, noted the challenge of fulfilling the site's potential while addressing the client's programmatic needs, resulting in a design that conveys weight and seriousness yet blends with the site across all four seasons. The design marries the opulence of the private community with the ruggedness of the forest terrain, reflecting a balance between luxury and natural integration.
