Dublin Bloomsday 2025 Kicks Off Summer of Literary Celebrations
In 2025, Dublin's Bloomsday will showcase approximately 100 events, such as readings, theater productions, film festivals, and guided tours following Leopold Bloom's path from Davy Byrne's Pub. Since its inception in 1954, the festival held on June 16 draws thousands of James Joyce enthusiasts dressed in period attire. The MoLI at St. Stephen's Green features rare editions, including the first copy of Joyce's Ulysses. To commemorate the 125th anniversary of Oscar Wilde's passing, the MoLI will present De Profundis readings until October 1. The Oscariana Festival in October will include Wilde's plays and themed tours, with guided tours at the Oscar Wilde House led by Martin Burns. Additionally, Marsh's Library, established in 1707 and once overseen by Jonathan Swift, and Enniskillen's In Our Dreams festival (October 16-20) will celebrate Wilde.
