festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The 36th edition of Drodesera, a performing arts festival in Dro, Italy, runs from July 22 to 30. The program opens with Luigi Presicce's 'Ascesa alla vetta della Santa e del mago dell'alba dorata,' continuing his cycle 'Le storie della Vera Croce' (started in 2012) and focusing on Saint Helena. Other highlights include Philippe Quesne's 'La Mélancolie des Dragons' (Italian premiere), Anagoor's 'Socrate il sopravvissuto,' Mohamed El Khatib's 'A beautiful ending' (Italian premiere), Sotterraneo's 'Postcards from the future,' Vanja Smiljanić's 'Waves of Worship (wow),' and Francesca Pennini/CollettivO CineticO's '10 Miniballetti' and 'La Casa di Pietra del Fratello Maggiore' (Italian premiere). From July 25 to 27, the Live Works Performance Act Award returns for its fourth edition, featuring nine artists selected after a free summer school, with guest performers Nástio Mosquito, Pauline Curnier Jardin, and Guido Van Der Werve. From July 28 to 30, Helicotrema Recorded Audio Festival and Lab Art, Data and Activism take place, exploring sonic remnants of performance and the relationship between mountains, rivers, and biodiversity from a non-anthropocentric perspective. The festival is organized by Centrale Fies, an art work space housed in a partially functioning hydroelectric plant in Trentino, which also serves as a cultural hub and production center for contemporary arts.
