Drodesera Festival 2020: XL Format and Hyperlocal Focus

The Drodesera Festival, at its 40th year, has abandoned its traditional festival format for an XL edition that expands temporally and contracts geographically, emphasizing a local perspective through the Hyperlocal project. The program, structured in chapters weaving art, curation, and performance, runs until spring 2021. Highlights include the exhibition 'Storia notturna' curated by Simone Frangi and Denis Isaia, OHT's installation '19 luglio 1985' directed by Filippo Andreatta commemorating the Stava Valley disaster, and the INBTWN project curated by Claudia D'Alonzo featuring a transfeminist perspective and collaborations with Elena Biserna and Anna Raimondo. Mali Weil debuted 'Forests | Unlearning', a performative and political reflection on the cultural and legal construct of forests, drawing on historical and anthropological research. The work explores the forest as a space of exclusion and political relations, referencing the Black Act, the Charter of the Forest (1217), and Yanomami practices. The festival continues in September with Julien Prévieux's 'What Shall We Do Next?' and in October with Mara Oscar Cassiani's 'Bondone'.
