Drodesera Festival 2017: Marta Cuscunà and Tania El Khoury
The Drodesera performing arts festival returns with its 37th edition, featuring works by Marta Cuscunà and Tania El Khoury. Cuscunà presents 'Sorry, Boys', the third stage of her 'Resistenze Femminili' project, inspired by Giovanna Cosenza's inquiry into feminism. The piece is based on a 2008 incident in Gloucester, USA, where 18 teenage girls became pregnant simultaneously, allegedly as part of a pact. El Khoury offers 'Garden Speak', an interactive sound installation containing stories of ten people who died during the Syrian uprising (2011-2013) and were buried in domestic gardens. The festival is organized by Centrale Fies in Dro, Trento. Video interviews with the artists were conducted by Dalila D'Amico, Marta Federici, and Chiara Pirri as part of the Superconnected project, an archive of the festival's diverse perspectives.
