Driver jailed for smuggling cocaine in Kim Kardashian underwear shipment

other · 2026-05-18

Jakub Jan Konkel, a 40-year-old Polish truck driver, received a 13-and-a-half-year prison sentence from Chelmsford Crown Court for trafficking £7 million (US$9.4 million) worth of cocaine concealed within a shipment of Skims, the shapewear line created by Kim Kardashian. According to the National Crime Agency (NCA), Konkel was stopped by border officials at an Essex port in September while driving a truck loaded with 28 pallets of Skims clothing from the Netherlands. During his journey, he picked up 90kg (198 pounds) of cocaine, which he hid in a specially modified compartment in the truck's rear doors. The clothing shipment was legitimate, and neither the exporter nor importer was involved in the crime. Konkel confessed to accepting €4,500 (US$5,243) to transport the drugs.
