Drive Toward a Cure's 'Get Me to the Greek' Rally Raises Funds for Parkinson's

Drive Toward a Cure (DTaC), a 501(c)(3) charity founded by Deb Pollack after losing her mother to Parkinson's in 2006, held its most successful annual road rally in Southern California, raising over $1.5 million total. The event, dubbed 'Get Me to the Greek,' coincided with the 50th anniversary of Neil Diamond's 'Love at the Greek' album. Diamond, diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2018, was honored through a tribute concert by Neil Forever, a cover band led by David Jacobson, former CEO of Pcarmarket, whose father also died from Parkinson's. The weekend included drives in supercars like a Lamborghini Revuelto loaned by the automaker, visits to the Petersen Museum and Malamut Museum, and a VIP dinner at the Greek Theater. DTaC launched the Hope in Motion blog this year and plans a family fund in honor of Pollack's mother's 100th birthday. Co-founder Derek Torry, diagnosed at 40, emphasized diet and exercise in managing symptoms. The rally drew participants from as far as Idaho, New Jersey, and Canada.
