Drinkit Design Department unveils Yekaterinburg flagship café blending industrial heritage with confectionery palette

architecture-design · 2026-04-17

Drinkit's Design Department has completed plans for their main café in Yekaterinburg, Russia. This project reflects the city’s industrial past, blending rugged materials with soft, candy-like colors. Inside, you’ll find gentle pistachio and pink tones paired with industrial features like glass blocks and recycled plastics, plus a unique acrylic ceiling over the bar. A long communal table, measuring 6.8 meters, divides the bar from the lounge while maintaining a cohesive look. The lounge is flexible, with modular seating and ambient floor lighting, and a cozy niche for a more private vibe. Local art, including pieces from Alexey Shakhov's 'Ural Tarot' and Andrey Skrepa (SKREP ONE), enhances the space. The design team included Nikita Tugarin and others. This project was submitted to designboom and edited by Christina Vergopoulou.
