Driade Moon Mission: 50th Anniversary Installation at Fuorisalone

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

Italian design brand Driade, founded in 1968 by Enrico and Antonia Astori with Adelaide Acerbi Astori, celebrates its 50th anniversary with an installation titled Driade Moon Mission / 50' Anniversary. The narrative design project, curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati and realized by Institute for Production of Wonder, is based on concept and artwork by Piergiorgio Robino and Studio Nucleo, with executive production by Barbara De Micheli. It opened during Fuorisalone and is dedicated to the moon landing. Under a tent mimicking a possible human colony on the moon, four iconic chairs—Toy and Costes by Philippe Starck, Koishi by Naoto Fukusawa, and Cuginetto by Enzo Mari—have been reinterpreted by Studio Nucleo using 3D printing with regolite, a material available on the lunar surface. The installation also serves as a set for the film "Moonage Daydream," scripted by Ricuperati and starring Elena Radonicich and Giannina Oteto, currently being shot on location.
