Dresden Residenzschloss Reopens Complete State Rooms After Reconstruction
The bel étage at Dresden's Residenzschloss (Royal Palace) has been fully reconstructed and has been open to the public since 22 April 2026, allowing guests to explore the state rooms in their historical order. The journey starts at the Englische Treppe (English Staircase) and moves through the Riesensaal (Hall of the Giants), showcasing tournament scenes, the restored Audienzzimmer der Königin (Queen's Audience Chamber), as well as the Kleiner and Großer Ballsaal (Small and Grand Ballrooms) featuring original décor fragments. Visitors will also see the Porzellankabinett (Porcelain Cabinet), the Proposition Hall, and the Baroque Paraderäume (State Apartments) of August the Strong, concluding in the Türckische Cammer (Turkish Chamber) adorned with Ottoman art. Additionally, the Rüstkammer (Armory) reveals 450 hidden power symbols from WWII, including crowns and masks.
