exhibition · 2026-04-26

The King's Gallery at Buckingham Palace will host "Drawing the Italian Renaissance," the most extensive display of Italian Renaissance drawings in the UK, from 1 November 2024 to 9 March 2025. This exhibition includes over 160 pieces created by approximately 80 artists from the Royal Collection, featuring notable figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titian, with several works making their first appearance in the UK. Curated by Martin Clayton, the show examines the progression of drawing in Italy between 1450 and 1600, highlighting life studies like Raphael's The Three Graces (1517–1518) and Fra Angelico's The Bust of a Cleric (1447–1450). Additionally, three contemporary artists will engage visitors in drawing activities.
