Dragon Hill and ArtReview Launch Joint Writers Residency in South of France
In March 2024, Dragon Hill Residence will launch its first residency for artists and writers in the South of France, in collaboration with ArtReview. This historic venue, crafted by French architect Jacques Couëlle in 1964, is located in a private estate close to Mougins, a region frequented by notable figures such as Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Yves Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, and Leo Castelli. Artists will reside in specially designed studios for six weeks, while six arts writers, invited by ArtReview's editorial team, will join them to encourage collaborative discussions. The writers will receive mentorship from ArtReview, and their works will be published on artreview.com post-residency. This initiative enhances the local art scene, which features Fondation Maeght, L'Espace de l'Art Concret, La Colombe d'Or, and the Musée d'Art Classique de Mougins (MACM), the latter of which will be rebranded as Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins in summer 2024. The residency seeks to blur the lines between art, architecture, and nature, creating a sacred environment for creativity.
