dot COMME's 265-Piece Comme des Garçons Collection Heads to Auction
On September 15, Octavius La Rosa, a collector from Melbourne recognized as dot COMME, will present 265 items from his Comme des Garçons collection at Kerry Taylor Auctions. The auction showcases notable pieces such as the 1997 'Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body' and the 2005 'Broken Bride', alongside a rare 'bedsheet' dress from spring 1984. Among the lots, fourteen are from before 1980, with the oldest dating back to 1975. Additionally, works by Junya Watanabe, including his fall 2006 army fatigues reinterpretation, and around 20 vintage menswear outfits will be featured. La Rosa selected Kerry Taylor Auctions for its editorial focus, intending to expand the narrative of fashion history, as he plans to move his collection to Paris for a public archive.
