Dorothy Circus Gallery Opens Permanent London Space in Marble Arch
Dorothy Circus Gallery, the Roman gallery dedicated to lowbrow, pop surrealism, and figurative art since 2007, is opening a permanent London location in Marble Arch's Connaught Village. Following a temporary gallery last year for its tenth anniversary, the move becomes permanent for at least six years. Gallerist Alexandra Mazzanti cited better accessibility for international visitors as a key reason, noting the area's proximity to Hyde Park, the Peter Pan statue, Cire Trudon, Café Monocle, and Fire Station. The new space will feature a Blue Room and Private Living Room, with a 'Sacre Bleu' theme referencing Impressionist color and contemporary avant-garde figurative movements. The gallery inaugurates on Thursday, November 22, with 'Range Ta Chambre,' the first London solo show of French artist Julien Malland (known as S.E.T.H.), born in Paris in 1972 and a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. His murals in the 20th arrondissement feature characters distinct from French urban art iconography. Curator Stefano Antonelli describes Seth's children as suspended between life and illusion, with a universal language that has conquered the world through social media. The show also involves the Rome gallery, opening Saturday, November 24, with a series of exhibitions planned across both spaces, including exclusive shows for each city and duo shows.
