Dorian Grinspan Transforms Historic Farmhouse into Maison Monna B&B and Residency
Dorian Grinspan, a film producer, has converted a historic farmhouse from 1796 in Old Chatham, New York, into Maison Monna, a three-room bed and breakfast set on nearly 70 acres, featuring an artist-in-residency initiative. While on a pandemic retreat, Grinspan, originally from Paris but residing in New York City, discovered the property on Zillow. The renovation retained original Shaker and Greek Revival elements while incorporating contemporary comforts. Designers included artists Louie Isaaman-Jones and Talia Nidam Warshawsky. The inaugural resident, London-based artist Tom Bull, stayed in February and March, crafting a Shaker-inspired birdhouse for Times Square Space's display during Frieze New York in May. Grinspan aims to transform a nearby house into The Inn at Monna, which will add eleven guest rooms.
