DORF Announces Inaugural Fishbowl Residency Artists in Austin
DORF, an artist-led nonprofit located in Austin, has revealed the first participants of its Fishbowl artist residency initiative. This program includes two local artists and one visiting artist, each staying for a month, three times a year. Each resident is awarded a stipend of $2,000 along with free accommodations, meals, and honoraria provided by Carpenter Hotel. Performance artist Andie Flores will be in residence from June 1 to June 27, exploring themes related to Latin American diasporic culture. Houston playwright Sam Mayer is scheduled for August 10 to September 5, while the Houston printshop collective Kitchen Table, led by Kill Joy, will be present from September 8 to September 26. Open studio hours are set for Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
