Dora Jeridi Wins 9th Révélations Emerige Grant for Young French Artists

The 9th edition of the Révélations Emerige grant, founded in 2014 by French real estate group Emerige and its founder Laurent Dumas, has awarded Dora Jeridi as the winner. The grant supports French artists under 35 not represented by a gallery, providing a studio for one year, €15,000 for a first solo show, and an exhibition partnership with a gallery. This year, 12 finalists were selected from around 1,000 applicants, and their group show "Douze preuves d'amour" (Twelve Proofs of Love) is curated by Gaël Charbau and held in an abandoned garage at 190 rue Lecourbe, Paris, until November 13. The winner was announced on October 18. Jeridi, born in Paris in 1988, studied contemporary history and fine arts in Paris, specializing in oil painting. Her work "Les Mangeurs d'images" (The Image Eaters) is a diptych influenced by Francis Bacon, Diego Velázquez, and Paula Rego, featuring figurative yet distorted forms. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with gallerists Alexandre Mor and Philippe Charpentier, who will host Jeridi's solo show. The grant aims to bridge emerging artists and established galleries, mitigating the risk galleries face in showcasing new talent.
