Donato Carrisi makes his directorial debut with 'La ragazza nella nebbia', an adaptation of his own noir novel. The film, produced by Colorado Noir Film and Medusa, opened in approximately 400 Italian theaters. It served as the pre-opening film of the 12th Rome Film Festival, a choice reflecting the festival's embrace of genre cinema under artistic director Antonio Monda and Fondazione Cinema per Roma president Piera Detassis. The story follows the disappearance of sixteen-year-old Anna Lou in the fictional mountain town of Avechot, investigated by disgraced former policeman Vogel. Carrisi's film critiques the media's exploitation of crime as spectacle and business. The cast includes Alessio Boni, Toni Servillo, Jean Reno, Lorenzo Richelmy, Michela Cescon, Galatea Ranzi, and Lucrezia Guidone. Carrisi, known for his novel 'Il suggeritore', originally wrote the story as a screenplay before turning it into a book.
