Donatien Grau hosts second talk on artist identity at Palais de Tokyo

On March 1, 2013, at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Donatien Grau organized the second meeting of his series "L'Atelier des Mutations en cours," titled "Artistes où êtes-vous (II)?" The event featured artist Alexandre Singh in conversation with critic Jean-Max Colard, gallerist Jean Frémon, and Fabrice Hergott, director of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. The discussion focused on redefining the figure of the artist in contemporary society. Singh, known for questioning the artist's role, has had solo exhibitions at Palais de Tokyo (2011) and The Drawing Center, New York (2012), and was preparing a play, "The Humans," at Witte de With, Rotterdam. Frémon, co-founder of Galerie Lelong, has written extensively on artists, including an essay on Louise Bourgeois. Colard is contemporary art editor for Les Inrockuptibles and a curator. Hergott, formerly at Centre Pompidou and director of Strasbourg museums, became director of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in 2006.
