Don Backy Releases Illustrated Fairy Tale and Audiobook 'Colpo di Genio'

Italian artist Don Backy, pseudonym of Aldo Caponi, is releasing a new illustrated fairy tale and audiobook titled 'Colpo di Genio' with Lavinia Dickinson Edizioni in November 2025. The project combines a written story, drawings, and 17 musical compositions accessible via QR code, many previously unreleased. In an interview, Backy describes the work as a narrative album that reflects his bond with nature, though not strictly autobiographical. The story imagines a world without technology where children play freely, intended to inspire hope and courage in young readers while critiquing modern degradation. Backy, known for songs like 'L'immensità,' 'Poesia,' and 'Pregherò,' emphasizes the importance of creativity and risk-taking. He expresses disillusionment with contemporary Italian music, which he finds hollow, and recalls his 1967 Sanremo entry 'Sognando' being censored for addressing mental illness, later turned into a hit by Mina.
