DOM Collective's 'Roma non esiste' Call for Performers and Thinkers

artist · 2026-05-04

Leonardo Delogu and Valerio Sirna of the DOM collective are launching a new participatory project titled 'Roma non esiste' (Rome Does Not Exist). Following their previous works 'L'uomo che cammina' and 'MAMMA ROMA', the project continues their exploration of landscape, rituals, and community through shared walking, camping, and celebration. The artists invite a small community of performers and scholars to experiment with strategies of adaptation in a transforming world, creating moments of reflection and resistance. The group will be in transit for 12 days, from July 3 to 14, 2019, exploring secret and well-known locations in Rome, with internal group rituals and public events including three parties and three public explorations. Participants must apply by June 9, 2019, via email with a back-facing photo in space and a short presentation text that selects three words from a provided list (including techno, posthuman, camping, ritual, eurodance, sharing, protest, public space, post-anthropocentrism, antifascism, group dances, joy division, haze, nomadism, sedentariness, delicacy, fury, theater, white fragility, walking, hostile architecture, pornoterrorism, outdoor, citizenship, anarchy, transfeminism, listening, perception, Nina Simone, other-than-human agency, laterality, sexy, siberia) and explains their connection to the applicant's biography and research. Selected participants receive food expenses coverage and a scholarship of €300 each.
