Dolomiti Contemporanee 2018: Curvatura Season Features 100+ Professionals
Dolomiti Contemporanee, the mountain territory redevelopment project conceived in 2011 by curator Gianluca D'Incà Levis, had a busy 2018 season titled Curvatura. The season involved over 100 professionals including artists, architects, and speakers, and numerous organizations active in the Dolomites. Events took place at historic and cultural sites such as the former Antonio Pitter hydroelectric plant in Malnisio (Montereale Valcellina) and the Centro Studi per l'Ambiente Alpino, Tesaf Unipd in San Vito di Cadore. Forte di Monte Ricco, which opened in 2017 with the group show Fuocoapaesaggio, was again central, hosting the exhibition Brain-tooling with 24 artists reflecting on adherence and cultural alpinism, as well as the Stream workshop led by Marta Allegri and D'Incà Levis. A collaboration with independent label Toxic Industries brought the second edition of the Dolomia Noise Wall music festival to the Nuovo Spazio di Casso al Vajont, featuring pioneering harsh noise artist The Rita.
