Dolce&Gabbana Retrospective 'Dal Cuore alle Mani' Opens at Palazzo Reale in Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The exhibition 'Dal Cuore alle Mani: Dolce&Gabbana' opens at Palazzo Reale in Milan from April 7 to July 31, 2024, in a world exclusive before traveling globally. Curated by Florence Müller with a scientific committee including Monsignor Alberto Rocca (Director of Pinacoteca Ambrosiana) and Franco Cologni (President of Fondazione Cologni per i Mestieri d’Arte), the retrospective explores the intersection of culture and fashion, highlighting the founders' Sicilian roots, baroque, Byzantine mosaics, opera, Greek mythology, and Italian films like 'Il Gattopardo'. The exhibition features ten rooms: digital artworks by Felice Limosani, Obvious Art, Alberto Maria Colombo, Quayola, Vittorio Bonapace, and Catelloo; paintings by Anh Duong inspired by the Grand Tour; Venetian glass craftsmanship; an immersive ballroom scene from Visconti's film; a sancta sanctorum with Alta Moda and Alta Gioielleria; a recreated atelier with artisans working Fridays 11-13 and 16-18; Renaissance art projections; hand-painted maiolica and Sicilian cart installations; and a tribute to Giacomo Serpotta. The brand remains independent, never sold to luxury groups, and invested over €1 million in the show. The exhibition is accessible with the Milano Museo Card (€15) for entry to all civic museums.
