Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda 10th Anniversary Show in Syracuse

On July 9, 2022, Dolce & Gabbana celebrated a decade of Alta Moda with a spectacular fashion show in Piazza del Duomo, Syracuse, Sicily. The event attracted international celebrities including Sharon Stone, Helen Mirren, Monica Bellucci, Mariah Carey, and Drew Barrymore, all wearing unique pieces from the collection. The show was inspired by Pietro Mascagni's opera Cavalleria Rusticana, with models dancing to its famous arias and portraying characters like Alfio and Turiddu in a performance directed by Giuliano Peparini. Saints and Madonnas were carried in procession by models, blending sacred and profane elements. The collection featured sculptural dresses echoing the baroque decorations of the Duomo, lace, embroidery, and colors evoking Sicilian carts, in black and white with bursts of color. The location, Ortigia's Piazza del Duomo, was chosen for its ancient stone paving that changes color with light, and the Duomo itself, originally a Greek temple dedicated to Minerva and later a mosque, reflects centuries of history.
