Dog poop turned into art in Rome street exhibition
Three students from IED Rome have created 'Dog shit experience', a street art exhibition in Via Giovanni Branca, Testaccio, Rome, that presents dog feces as artworks. The works are displayed under glass domes with labels and captions, parodying museum and gallery conventions. The project, which ran on February 4 and 5, 2023, is inspired by Piero Manzoni's 'Merda d'artista' and aims to ironically critique the widespread problem of dog waste in cities. Organizers noted that some passersby brought their dogs, who seemed more fascinated by the works than their owners.
