Documentary traces 50 years of Santarcangelo Festival

A documentary titled '50 – Santarcangelo Festival' chronicles the history of the Santarcangelo Festival from its first edition in 1971 to the present. Directed by Michele Mellara and Alessandro Rossi, the film features interviews with artistic directors and archival footage of performances. It premieres as a special event on the platform #IorestoinSALA! on March 15, 16, and 17, distributed by I Wonder Pictures and Unipol Biografilm Collection in collaboration with Sky Arte. The documentary covers the festival's evolution from political theater in the 1970s under Piero Patino, through radical shifts by Roberto Bacci with group theater and Third Theatre, to independent theater under Antonio Attisani in the late 1980s, actor-driven theater by Leo De Berardinis, co-direction by Silvio Castiglioni and Massimo Marino, and contemporary performance and audiovisual installation. Produced by Mammut Film with Santarcangelo Festival and Home Movies – Archivio Nazionale del Film di Famiglia, supported by Regione Emilia-Romagna, Comune di Santarcangelo, and MIBACT.
