Documentary on Sergio Leone premieres 30 years after his death

A new authorized documentary, 'Sergio Leone – L’uomo che inventò l’America' directed by Francesco Zippel, premieres in Italian cinemas on October 20 via 01 Distribution. The film was presented in the Venezia Classici competition at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. It features interviews with Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Ennio Morricone, Robert De Niro, and many others. The documentary explores Leone's life, his pioneering role in the spaghetti western genre, and his enduring influence on contemporary cinema. Produced with support from the Leone family, Sky Italia, and Sky Studios, it aims to reveal new aspects of the director beyond his famous films. Zippel describes the project as a return to his childhood passion for cinema, sparked by watching 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.
