Documentary on Maria Lai to Premiere at MAXXI Rome

A new documentary on Sardinian artist Maria Lai (1919–2013), directed by Maddalena Bregani and produced by LaGalla23, will have its world premiere on Wednesday, February 19 at the MAXXI in Rome as part of the Extra DOC Festival. The film traces her artistic journey from the 1960s with works like Telai, Tele cucite, Pani, and Scritture, to the 1981 collective action Legarsi alla montagna in Ulassai, which anticipated relational art. It features archival materials, landscapes, and testimonies from friends, collaborators, artists, and critics.
