Documentary on Eduardo De Filippo premieres on Sky Arte

A new documentary titled 'Il nostro Eduardo' will air on Sky Arte on Sunday, January 30, offering an intimate portrait of the legendary Neapolitan playwright Eduardo De Filippo. For the first time, his family—including his grandchildren and children Luca, Matteo, Tommaso, and Luisa—opens up about his life and work. The documentary features never-before-seen photographs, home movies, and letters that reveal the real Eduardo, away from the often distorted representations of time. Born in Naples over 120 years ago, Eduardo was the illegitimate son of Eduardo Scarpetta, the most famous actor and playwright of his era, alongside his siblings Peppino and Titina. His plays remain timeless, addressing themes such as family crisis, father-son relationships, gender dynamics, loss of values, individual conflicts, duty, revenge, and the search for truth in a society dominated by fake news.
