Documentary on 102-year-old fashion icon Iris Apfel airs on Sky Arte

Sky Arte will broadcast the documentary 'Iris' on Sunday, January 21, directed by Albert Maysles, who died in March 2015. The film profiles Iris Apfel, born August 29, 1921 in Queens, New York, now 102 years old. Apfel studied fine arts at New York University, worked at Women's Wear Daily, then became an interior designer. She redesigned the White House interiors for nine presidents from Truman to Clinton. The documentary includes interviews with Harold Koda, curator of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Margaret Russell, editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest, and designers Alexis Bittar, Duro Olowu, Naeem Khan, and Dries van Noten.
