Documentary 'La rivoluzione siamo noi' to Premiere at Turin Film Festival
The documentary 'La rivoluzione siamo noi,' conceived by curator and critic Ludovico Pratesi and director Ilaria Freccia, offers a deep dive into Italian art from 1967 to 1977. It features performances by Pino Pascali on the Roman coast, Jannis Kounellis's horses at Galleria L'Attico, Michelangelo Pistoletto's street actions in Turin, and protests at the Venice Biennale. The film includes Andy Warhol eating mozzarella in Naples and Joseph Beuys speaking at Lucio Amelio's gallery in Piazza dei Martiri. Produced and distributed by Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, it will have its world premiere on November 25 at the 38th Turin Film Festival, which will be held entirely online via Mymovies.it. The documentary weaves together interviews with key figures such as artists Gino de Dominicis, Marina Abramović, Luigi Ontani, Alighiero Boetti, Hermann Nitsch, and Trisha Brown, as well as gallerists Lia Rumma, Fabio Sargentini, Antonio Tucci Russo, and Beppe Morra. It draws on extensive archival materials from institutions, museums, galleries, and collectors. Pratesi and Freccia aimed to capture the era's flavor through memories of protagonists and period testimonies, creating a continuous movement between past and present.
