Documentary 'Inside the Dream: Mugler' Celebrates 50 Years of the Fashion House

publication · 2026-04-26

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Mugler fashion house, the documentary 'Inside the Dream: Mugler' has been released. Directed by Matthieu Menu and produced by Terminal 9, the 60-minute film traces the brand's history, from Manfred Thierry Mugler's revolutionary impact on fashion to the creation of the gourmand fragrance family with Angel. It includes behind-the-scenes footage of the spring/summer 2024 show by creative director Casey Cadwallader, who revived the label's sensual aesthetic with body-hugging silhouettes, sheer fabrics, and strategic cutouts. The documentary also reveals the making of Zendaya's robot suit appearance, a replica of the Maschinenmensch from the fall/winter 1995-1996 'Cirque d'hiver' collection, worn at the premiere of 'Dune: Part Two'. Danièle Lahana-Aidenbaum, President of Mugler Fashion & Fragrances, stated that the anniversary testifies to the power of audacious creativity and that the brand continues to honor Mugler's transformative legacy while shaping the future of fashion and perfumery. The documentary is currently available in France on Canal+ and will soon be released worldwide on platforms including Prime Video.
