Documentary 'Amare Gio Ponti' Celebrates Architect's 130th Birthday

A new documentary titled 'Amare Gio Ponti' by Francesca Molteni offers a portrait of the renowned Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti, released on the 130th anniversary of his birth. The film draws on extensive archival material from the Archivio Gio Ponti, his heirs, and the Teche RAI, bringing to life his projects, ideas, and thoughts. It features an interview with Ponti in his studio on Via Dezza, where his architectural models and custom furnishings are showcased, including Villa Planchart, Palazzo Montecatini, and the Pirelli Tower in Milan. The documentary includes testimonies from his children Lisa, Letizia, and Giulio, grandchildren Salvatore Licitra and Paolo Rosselli, and interviews with key figures such as Vittorio Gregotti, Fulvio Irace, Enzo Mari, Giovanna and Maria Grazia Mazzocchi, Alessandro Mendini, Nanda Vigo, Bob Wilson, and publisher Benedikt Taschen, a collector of Ponti's work. 'Amare Gio Ponti' will be available for streaming from November 18 to 20 on the Molteni Group website.
