Documentaries on Supermodels: From Naomi to Donyale Luna

Separately, a documentary 'Donyale Luna: Super Model' directed by Nailah Jefferson premiered on HBO on September 13, 2023. It chronicles the life of Donyale Luna (born Peggy Anne Freeman), the first Black model to appear on the cover of Vogue in March 1966, photographed by David Bailey. Luna was a muse to Andy Warhol, acted in his films, and appeared in Federico Fellini's 'Satyricon' and Carmelo Bene's 'Salomè'. She married Italian photographer Luigi Cazzaniga, had a daughter named Dream, and died at age 34 from a heroin overdose in Rome.
